Rebecca Thorsen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from California State University, San Diego. She went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology from California State University, Sacramento. Since beginning her career she has worked primarily with the pediatric population. Rebecca has worked in acute hospital settings, school districts, and has enjoyed running her own Long Beach Speech Pathology Clinic for over 14 years. She holds the certificate of clinical competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed with the State of California. Rebecca is a member of the California Speech and Hearing Association (CSHA) as well as a certified member of the International Association of Orofacial Myologists (IAOM). She is one of 12 certified orofacial myologists who are speech pathologists in California. 

Rebecca is also a lecturer at Chapman University for graduate level clinicians. She has worked for Pacific Coast Speech Services as a CFY supervisor for recent graduates. Rebecca has received the ASHA ACE award for continuing education two consecutive years for continuing education. She has received specialized training in:
